Martin Hawes is New Zealand's most widely-known and trusted finance writer. His first book on family trusts, published in 1995, introduced the concept of trusts to tens of thousands of people. (Over 100,000 copies of his Family Trusts book has been sold.) Since then he has had a string of bestsellers published on other topics such as investment, mortgages and tax.
Martin's background is in business and financial consultancy. Following the success of his books, he sold his consultancy practice and is now a full-time writer and presenter. In addition, he has a number of independent, non-executive directorships and he offers advice to individual clients on wealth creation.
He's often sought after for comment on financial matters by the media, and runs workshops for those interested in investing in property and wealth creation.
Martin has used his vast experience in property and his involvement in last years television programme, The School of Home Truths, to write a book based on the programme. In eight straight-forward lessons Hawes offers an indispensable guide to anyone selling or buying their home.
Martin Hawes lives in Queenstown. In his spare time he rock climbs, skis and climbs mountains.
