Ken Sibly

Ken Sibly took up off-roading in 1978 after a few years messing about in a trailer-sailer, which he swapped for a 1976 Series III short-wheelbase Land Rover. In the same year he joined the Canterbury Land Rover Owners' Club. In recognition of his many years of service in that club, including membership of its driver training team, he is now a life member.

Ken has driven many thousands of kilometres on the gravel roads, riverbeds and mud tracks of the South Island — along many of them towing the off-road caravan he designed and built in 1984. He and the caravan are still going strong, but last year he traded up from his trusty Series III to a 1988 Land Rover 90.

Ken is Christchurch based and runs comprehensive 4WD driver training courses for private and corporate clients.
